Goodbye Virginia Songtext
von Clark Kissick

Goodbye Virginia Songtext

Following this river as it cuts the mountainside
Staring out the window through bloodshot eyes
Two lanes′ roads lead wherever I need to go
Along side nearly empty tracks a long coal train rolls slow

I wont stop until I hit Pike County back to my old Kentucky home
Get on my side of the mountain where it ain't so damn cold
Taking in the breeze watch those cool waters flow
Off there in the distance you can hear that old train whistle blow

Goodbye Virginia
I won′t be back around

Your beauty stays through all the seasons, how it amazes me
Sometimes I can't help but wonder just where we would be
There's a part of me that misses you, another part that don′t
I think we both see it was time for me to pack up and get gone

Goodbye Virginia
I won′t be back around

Sunshine in my face, it feels good
I'm finally moving on just like I should
Heartaches gone away and the tears have dried today
It sure as hell ain′t easy no matter what they say

Goodbye Virginia
I wont be back around
