The city falls silent, a blinding flash
When I open my eyes, feels like a lifetime has passed

Where am I now, the view is the same
And yet the vibe is different, something must have changed
The woman beside me remembers my name
Grabs my hand, says everything′s gonna be OK, hey

I feel hope, a sudden reprieve
A bright horizon, curiosity
The world I knew was an evil charade
Suddenly it's vanished in a joyous cascade

I am who I am, my memories remain
The past informs me of oppression, but it has no claim
I want to explore the artist in me
Nature knows what I′m meant to be
