Jumping Fences Songtext

Jumping Fences Songtext

I know a few things to be true
Those sleeping dogs will wake once a full moon
Planted a garden in my room
The soils too worn to let these flowers come abloom

None of my plans seem to go
The path of least resistance
This′ll never become the Babylonian paradise I see

But I wanna be jumping fences
I don't wanna keep keeping score
It′s like this life I'm living is limited to a white padded door
I wanna floor the pedal at the red light
Maybe I would feel more
But at the solar escape
It's just me and my bedroom floor

I′ve never heard silence quite so loud
How do you tell when it is time to make a sound?
I trudge around these barren halls
A venture to seek a glimpse of your fleeting calls

Extend your bruised palm to me
I′m locked in a cage defenseless
These rust iron bars and stripped umber walls
With a bed I made for me

But I wanna be jumping fences
I don't wanna keep keeping score
It′s like this life I'm living is limited to a white padded door
I wanna floor the pedal at the red light
Maybe I would feel more
But at the solar escape
It′s just me and my bedroom floor

And maybe, I'll find a way
And maybe, their standards will change
All that I know
Is we′re gonna drown in those red and blue strobe lights
Just for a taste of ecstasy

But I wanna be jumping fences
I don't wanna keep keeping score
It's like this life I′m living is limited to a white padded door
I wanna floor the pedal as the scarlet shines
Maybe I would feel more
But at the solar escape
It′s just me and my bedroom floor
No at the solar escape
It's just me and my bedroom floor
