Life changed in a flash
It all happened so fast
One day I had dreams
And the next minute they were dashed
But the funniest thing
That the pandemic would bring
Would have to be seeing
The cracks in everything
The more I chased my dream
Face wrapped way too sheen
Without a cure, without vaccine
Started to become too routine
So I took a break
Decided to rest in the states
But It must have been fate
What was to await


I saw you standing there.
An angel with red hair
Like those twenty years weren′t there
I couldn't believe my eyes

So I gave it a try
Left this Irish life behind
What good is life
If you can′t even live
Scraping elbows with this virus
Walked the wasteland alone
Travelled a world in crisis
All to find a home

All this back and forth
Over the ocean blue
No covid lockdown
Could keep me away from you
We hid away from the world
To protect those we love the most
And Not to play host
And, over and over
The waves ran over our shore
No one cared, but we endured
We've made it this far, but oops now I'm sure


We fought so hard,
And we behaved,
But now we′re caught
In the fifth wave.
We tried so hard,
To be brave,
But my board has caught up in
This fifth wave.
