Backdoor Man Songtext
von Billy Vera

So you say you close your eyes and picture me
When you′re makin' love to him
There was a time when that would be alright with me
But I can feel you gettin′ 'neath my skin

Looks like I love you after all this time
How could I love you knowin' you′re not mine?

I′m a backdoor man, just an also ran
When it comes to lovin' you (Lovin′ you)
I'm your backdoor man, but your backdoor man
Is tired of bein′ number two

Well your sighs of love burn softly on my soul
When you're makin′ love to me
But it's little consolation when you go
And you're sneakin′ back in your house by three

How could I love you knowin′ you're not mine?
I have to love you only when there′s time

I'm a backdoor man, just an also ran
When it comes to lovin′ you (Lovin' you)
I′m your backdoor man, but your backdoor man
Is tired of bein' number two

I'm your backdoor man, just an also ran
When it comes to lovin′ you (Lovin′ you)
Oh, I'm your backdoor man, but your backdoor man
