On a warm afternoon
Summer′s in bloom
These days not much to do

Pedaling together
Through the streets of my youth
Something, their boots
Tells me they're not from here


I pass them on my way
To the sunflower field
It′s August 2
My dad's day and love blooms

I pick up a small one
Looking wilted and bent
Maybe a bit spent
It also needs some rest

Bringing you this flower
Your first birthday alone
Some plants to grow
