Dreamer Songtext
Rain drops down onto New York city lights and clutches her window
A thin glass wall, she presses a finger. Not an inch between her and outside
Her breath, a blurry photo, taken by a tree swaying swiftly
Her boyfriend calls late in the evening–lonely hearts so far apart
A dreamer waits for the dark to tuck away the light
And hide the truth right around it
She hangs up, slides under new sheets. Toes curl up wishing for his too.
There′s so much I never told her face to face, I never could speak
Lonely sound of rain on the rooftop I hear from here, she speaks in her sleep
It evaporates, drifts across the country. A three hour trip–her lips to my ears
A dreamer waits for the dark to tuck away the light
And hide the truth right around it
A thin glass wall, she presses a finger.
