Half Truths Songtext

When we were young
You′d take the time back then
You wouldn't look away for a minute
But now the house you built is burning down

Screaming half-truths, like, "What have you done?"

You wait for me to believe
Then pull the rug from under me
When you take everything from me
You can′t expect me not to bleed

Suburban brick hides brokenness
You've stolen health away from our mother
I can't accept the role you′ve handed down
So you′ve left us (so you left us) on our own (on our own)
So you've left us

Screaming half-truths, like, "What have you done?"

You wait for me to believe
Then pull the rug from under me
When I say, "Please, don′t leave" (don't leave)
What do you think of me?

Settle the tide, dry now the rose
And dim sunlight; find all my song in nature′s clothes
You let me take it on the chin
But I swear, I'll do better than this
