We came into this world
What a mystery
Shed our fur and we renounced the monkey
Neanderthal we claimed this world all for ourselves
None the wiser, we turned it into hell
War and unrest and borders we built up our walls
To shut out all the people who need help the most
And each leaders a scoundrel who can′t answer why
There's these systems that weed us all out till we die


So God, can you please tell them the truth?
This is not what you told them to do
That no man should ever claim a crown just to plunder the land where they happen to stand

And yet providence they demand

So God, reach out when you′re not asleep
And leave your message right after the beep
The few good things won't stay
They're eroding and melting away
Yo God, please remind us that we′re not alone
And leave a message right after the tone
I speak for us all, we could sure use a call
We′re burning and out on the lam

We need providence, not a scam
