A serpent vast with scales like mail
Glaurung rises
The earth does quake
The air turns cold
The stars do break

Turin stands
His blade held tight
The last of hope
In the dying light
A mortal man with doom in his veins
Bound to sorrow
Tied to chains

And the winds
They howl his name
Turambar
Lost to fate′s cruel game


Glaurung falls
But the price is steep
The heros cry
The world must weep
Ashes to ashes
Blood to ground
In the silence
No triumph found

The beast did roar
Its breath was flame
Its eyes like pits of endless shame
But Turin's heart
Though scarred and torn
Burned brighter still than the breaking morn

He struck the beast with a mighty blow
The serpent writhed
Its end did show
Yet in its death
Its tail did lash
And Turin fell in the final crash
