Lack of Logic Songtext

Sometimes I see my mother in me
And sometimes it scares me to death
But I must rely on my tranquility
So nothing′s decided yet!

It seems mothers are like a special breed
Sometimes they have no logic sense
And even before I learnt how to read
I knew I could not make amends

"Mama my new bike is gone", I said
"It must have been stolen last night"
The answer she gave me is still in my head
At the time I just gave up the fight


"I'm sure it was one of your friends"
She replied
"They′ve all seen you on it, I know!"
And what someone believes
Hardly can be denied
This was larger than me, and it would grow

"But mama!" I screamed
"Just how can you think
That my best friends would do that to me?"
"No one can be trusted!"
She didn't even blink
I was nine years, I think, soon to be

So when sometimes I see my mother in me
I swear that it scares me to death!
But I will rely on my tranquility
So nothing's decided, yet
