Little Fish Songtext

Little Fish Songtext
Little fish,
prettiest in the pond
The more you flex your fins like that the more it′s gonna cost
Reel it in
Gotta get what you want
Go get up that mountain top and see if you can fall
See if you can climb
You climb well for a fish
You'd look good for a human
But humans could care less
Breathe it in,
how unfortunate
Prettiest in the pond but growing out of it
And you will grow to be ten feet tall
Your head in a crown, your hit on that radio
Go give a shrug to the pond days,
they didn′t teach you nothing
But when it grows to mean nothing at all
Any time you like, call me up and cut me one
I never said you'd be alright
Older now,
steadier on the legs
The more I run uphill the less support it takes
Older now,
long time between the takes
And I can hold out longer before I start to break
Before I start to leak
I'm scratching at my scabs
And far down underneath them,
at scales I used to have
Breathe it in,
how unfortunate
The place you′re wishing back to ain′t the one you left
And you will grow to be ten feet tall
Your head in a crown, your hit on that radio
Go give a shrug to your pond days,
they didn't teach you nothing
But when it grows to mean nothing at all
Any time you like, call me up and cut me one
I never said you′d be alright
You just sing well for a fish
prettiest in the pond
The more you flex your fins like that the more it′s gonna cost
Reel it in
Gotta get what you want
Go get up that mountain top and see if you can fall
See if you can climb
You climb well for a fish
You'd look good for a human
But humans could care less
Breathe it in,
how unfortunate
Prettiest in the pond but growing out of it
And you will grow to be ten feet tall
Your head in a crown, your hit on that radio
Go give a shrug to the pond days,
they didn′t teach you nothing
But when it grows to mean nothing at all
Any time you like, call me up and cut me one
I never said you'd be alright
Older now,
steadier on the legs
The more I run uphill the less support it takes
Older now,
long time between the takes
And I can hold out longer before I start to break
Before I start to leak
I'm scratching at my scabs
And far down underneath them,
at scales I used to have
Breathe it in,
how unfortunate
The place you′re wishing back to ain′t the one you left
And you will grow to be ten feet tall
Your head in a crown, your hit on that radio
Go give a shrug to your pond days,
they didn't teach you nothing
But when it grows to mean nothing at all
Any time you like, call me up and cut me one
I never said you′d be alright
You just sing well for a fish
