And green as the bottom of the valley

And green as you well know is envy
For you have gone off to another
One who you think suits you better
I don't wish you well and I′ll see you in hell
And I'm sitting here burning your letter


I'm as red as the petals of a dead stinking rose
And blue as the middle of the salt sea
The red is the blood of the heart you have broken
And blue is the way you have left me
What is the shade of a promise?
What is the color of a lie?
The poetry shed and the best that I′ve written
Will all be forgot when I die

I′m as red as the skin of a Jonathan apple
And the gold of a black Susan petal
The red is the blood of the heart you have broken
And gold is a meaningless metal
