At the Mount Rush observatory, 3 AM local time, on the 19th of

September 1963, a radio signal was recorded emanating from a planet


In the Alpha Centauri system. Three weeks later a Mercury rocket
Was launched from Cape Canaveral, its mission to locate the source
Of these radio signals. Operation Shenandoah was underway. On board
This rocket were three astronauts and after arrival on an alien
Planet, almost fifty light years away from the planet Earth, one of
Them, 28-year-old Flight Lieutenant James Blackmore, fell in love
With one of the beautiful young female inhabitants. But the operation
Of their Mercury rocket took three men and to ensure the success
Of Operation Shenandoah, Flight Lieutenant James Blackmore was forced
To accompany his fellow astronauts on the journey back to Earth

These first two interplanetary lovers managed to spend only
Eight short days together and the young Flight Lieutenant
Would carry the memory of those eight short days with him for
The rest of his life. This beautiful haunting melody, from
