In the spring time years ago
When we drove for three days to the coast
There was no way to have known
Of the coming storm

We grew up in many ways
Grew apart over many days
When our storm did finally break
I was ready for the change

Dear diary
Well another day has passed
And I hope that its the last of this rain
I feel ready for spring once again


Dear diary
Now the seasons are turning
Lets take what we learned and escape
Go in search of a reason again

The same town but different homes
The same journey but different boats
What we had and what we hoped
Were just different things

In the shifting of the sand
The re-thinking of all of the plans
As the storms now fades to the past
I feel for the change

Dear diary
Well another day has passed
And I hope that its the last of this rain
I feel ready for spring once again
