Tension is all that I know
I got tension out in traffic

After the bad guy killed off all the underdeveloped characters
The good guy put a bullet right through his head
The screenwriter stood up, he told everybody
That all the loose ends had been tied
He said justice is irrelevant, violent problems need violent solutions
'Cause in America we like our bad guys dead
Preferably after some kind of a kick-ass car chase or something

They roped off all my problems and they
Pointed their fingers at drug addiction
I think it's 'cause they know if you′re the one doing the pointing
Nobody′s looking at you
But you know this war on drugs is funded
By the tobacco and alcohol commissions
It wasn't really what drugs you′re strung
Out on they care about so much as whose
You see, people still did drugs

Did I ever tell you about that time I was in a jam band?
I'm telling you, people still dig drugs

So now they jump on just about any
Scandal that they can to try and save me

Bullshit about the devil′s music anymore

I don't know what scares people these days
Or what doesn′t, you know

I always liked that one, and I still play it a lot, you know


I like that
It's kind of a talking blues
But more based on a Kris Kristofferson type style
Or there was this guy named Terry Warren
That was at the open mics at the Cheatham Street in the 80s
And that song was really, like, heavily-
He never made any records, but he influenced a ton of us
And that song was kinda something he would have done
