We must not cling to a symbol
Our hope can not rest in steel or wood
We cling to the One who made us
Having faith, trusting in His truth and mercy

We don′t need these "Christian" symbols
To help us worship and pray
We just look inside to see
What is truly there upon the throne of our hearts

Our crosses and our jewelry
With our Christian flags
They're only reminders of who we
Truly praise and worship in His glory up on high


We look at where our hope lies
It′s not with something in our hands
Or something that we place around our necks
We don't show our faith through trinkets

We focus on You
We live for You
