Lived In Songtext
von Thomas Csorba

Lived In Songtext

There′s a creak in the door
And a crack in the drywall
There's a draft in the front room
And glitter in that hardwood floor
That seems to hang around
No matter what I do

A few clips on the shingles
Leftover from Christmas
There′s shoes in the hallway
And a sink full of dishes
Though I seem to recall me
Cleaning 'em up after dinner was through

This house sure ain't new
It′s got nothing to prove
It′s just lived in
Showing the signs of
All the years spent
Building a life, it ain't
The finest around
But it ain′t worn out
It's just lived in

There′s a scar on my arm
From way back in highschool
There's lines on my face
And an old faded tattoo
That I′d never erase
Cause I know it reminds you
Of how far we've come

I got a few parts that work
And a few that are achin'
Got a coupla joints
That could use some replacin′
But I reckon the point is
There′s no use in saving
What you oughtta use up

Might look a little bit rough
But it works good enough

It's just lived in
Showing the signs of
All the years spent
Building a life, it ain′t
The finest around
But it ain't worn out
It′s just lived in

Everybody's tryin′ to shine
Like silver and gold
But honey you and I
Ain't the shimmering kind
Love'll never grow old
If we take our time

Just lived in
Showing the signs of
All the years spent
Building a life, might be
The finest around
Cause it ain′t worn out

Just lived in
Showing the signs
Of all the years spent
Building a life
Might be the finest around
Cause it ain′t won't out
It′s just lived in

Might be the finest around
Cause it ain't worn out
It′s just lived in
