I was thumbing through my 45s the other day
Thinking back to carefree happy times
The Waltzer seemed so scary
The music seemed so loud

How did we get here now?

The first kiss that we shared I still remember well
Fumbled cos I didn′t know what to do

Like I'd become a man

When we left school we both went on our separate ways
Growing up the way that people do
Find a house and settle down
Have kids and live the dream
But as the hands of time keep moving
Things aren't always what they seem
Sadness and regret become normality
Nine to nine just working to survive
How the tale is told in the storybook
Just don′t seem to ring true
The dreams we have get broken
It gets harder to know what to do
