Setting Our Tables Songtext

Setting Our Tables Songtext

As the red deer relate to the month of April
So do we wait patiently to set our table

Our forks and knives
They wiggle tender side by side
Gnawing at the withered pines
Hoping she′s the one
And my father's pride
Is tearing down the mountainside
Soon the trees will all align
Leaving us with sun

So cast them later than the older ones
Until September when they have become
Fully covered in a velvet skin
′Til they're just like the shrubs and saplings they defend

And as the skin sheds slowly
The mound becomes more stable
I would climb to redefine
The path if I were able

And our forks and knives
They wiggle tender side by side
Gnawing at the withered pines
Hoping she's the one
And my father′s pride
Is tearing down the mountainside
Soon the trees will all align
Leaving us with sun

So cast them later than the older ones
Until September when they have become
Fully covered in a velvet skin
′Til they're just like the shrubs and saplings they defend
So cast them later than the older ones
Until September when they have become
Fully covered in a velvet skin
′Til they're just like the shrubs and saplings they defend

Until they′re just like the shrubs and saplings they defend
Until they're just like the shrubs and saplings they defend
