I was shooting the scam with my trader man
The kind who sees things viscerally
He told me about a new IPO
We waxed terms leisurely
Found myself cussing sweet FA of nothing
Enough to blow me away
About my fear of info technology
I logged in at home I can do it on my own
To check out some stuff at work
The mainframe was down I was all alone
The tech guy going berserk
Retreat inside runaway and hide
My mind was blown away
By this world of info technology
There was a time when you could slide around it
Back where there was an IT guru
Not just the person sitting next to you


Too scared to open my phone
And get spammed by some Ruskie
So is my fear of info technology
I was lying in bed feeling sad
Did an email I opened install something bad?
And I′ve been hacked and what have I lost?
What'll be the damage and what′ll be the cost?
To every contact I've known every friend I've ever had
It remains unclear if this irrational fear
Is something I can assuage
My public ousting and lyrical jousting
Might not be about the age
Best to take control and deal with it all
Time to turn a page
On my fear of info technology
A sad illiteracy
Time to live with dignity
