Studying Economy Songtext
von The Devil's Interval
Studying Economy Songtext
Well, times are hard but I′m prepared
To try and rattle through it
And if you come and listen to me
I'll tell you how I do it
And upon my word
Studying economy
I live like a lord
At ten I sally out and go
To hear the band play
Which takes me to eleven
When I promenade the Strand way
At two I reach a coffee shop
And read a book till seven
And half a pint of good farrel
Will last me till eleven
And upon my word
Studying economy
I live like a lord
I can′t abide block ornaments
For fear of those small maggots
So I wait till eight o'clock some days
And patronise the faggots
And upon my word
Studying economy
I live like a lord
Now I've told you all the particulars
Of how I pass my day away
Through studying economy
I don′t have much to pay way
Though I′ve reduced it
I tell it to pease pudding on a Friday
And all things considering
Why I get on pretty tidy
And upon my word
Studying economy
I live like a lord
Then I sally home and make no row
For fear of mother Randall
And into bed in the dark
Because it saves a candle
Then I pass out in all my clothes
Just as the day is dawning
And leave some gin beside the bed
For breakfast in the morning
And upon my word
Studying economy
I live like a lord
To try and rattle through it
And if you come and listen to me
I'll tell you how I do it
And upon my word
Studying economy
I live like a lord
At ten I sally out and go
To hear the band play
Which takes me to eleven
When I promenade the Strand way
At two I reach a coffee shop
And read a book till seven
And half a pint of good farrel

And upon my word
Studying economy

So I wait till eight o'clock some days
And patronise the faggots
And upon my word
Studying economy
