When the sky is dark
And the wildest wild is sleeping
I move real slow, I move real slow
As I rise and wake under the moon
Using all the breath within me
Speaking words the shadows understand
And in my hand a seed is blooming
When it′s dark


But I am still tender in the spring
With the new grass pressed beneath me
With the darkness singing me to sleep
As the stars are weeping
Oh, there's always hypocrites and thieves
If it′s not nailed down they will take it
Like a wolf in borrowed skin, it's their face
But they don't recognize it

When it′s dark I will walk between the worlds
Balancing like a tightrope walker
Daring all who see to turn away, or watch me dangle

But one day I will rise to touch the moon
Swim its sands and walk its rivers
Watching Earth sail behind the sun

In a sea of falling rain, lost in fog or lost in slumber
