Skylark Songtext
von Teacups

I′m still creeping round the sleeping shapes
Wait until day breaks
And until now the ground has found a way
To keep the lampposts bound

Down from the light night air will coax them upward
And like a school of jellyfish
A thousand lanterns sway and bounce
Into the navy night
And that's when the stars begin to fight

A balloon dips low and there′s no one below
Standing on their toes to grab it down
And the aeroplanes suspend themselves from a ceiling sky
Around the world in just a night
And like a fleet of submarines
A thousand autumn leaves
Carve their trail into the navy night
As they take flight

And there's just no way I'm staying here
While everybody leaves
To spend their time on people who aren′t me
And I′m just so sick of sitting tight
At such a terrifying height
While down below they tell me to come down
Then they look away

Well, I've never felt so calm
And now I′m still creeping round the sleeping shapes
