Trucker Songtext

Trucker Songtext

All this activity so early in the morning
The cars full of people with a plan
Room with a view of the rush hour breeze
My alarm clock rests under my hand
Buzzing with purpose and work to be done saying,
"Don′t you realize what today is?"

It's the sunrise of everyone else′s day but mine
The wash of intentions and sweet nights
From which they wake in their lovers' hands

And all the ones I was suppose to marry
They got married a few years ago
One was a thinker, and one was a drinker
And one left the sun for the snow.
Tell me it's fate, but it′s never been late
Whispering every day you have to face this

It′s the sunrise of every one else's day but mine
The wash of intentions and sweet nights
From which they wake in their lovers′ hands

And the birds sing, teary and hopeful they beg me
To try and not notice you're missing
And all I wake up to are my best laid plans

All of the lights flicker out in the night
But my window lamp becomes a conflagration
Life the sunrise of everyone else′s laugh, how nice
The wash of intentions and long nights,
And I lie awake without my lover's hands

And the stars blink, teary and hopeful they hate me
They make me take notice you′re missing
From the castle I've made out of my best laid plans
