Opened up once, took a look at each other, we′re not the same
Never meant better or worse but that's the card these assholes play
Little towns, little minds, very all-alike
Dime a dozen, differences are bullied

You opened up twice, your confession of hatred, we′re not the same
Tell me your color's superior, that blood's not red in all veins
Double down, claim you′re right, with your tiki torch hindsight
You say "white′s are trusted and dark pigment's gotta leave"


And you′re proud of your willingness to hate the rest
and you'll die buried with such discontentment
Alright, you′re Mr. Traditionalist
But you'll lose, your long game′s been trending down

Open up twice, take a look at each other, love saves the day
Most of us willing to try our best to embrace empathy
We can try, we can hope, human-kindness grows
It's time for something of substance, and that's more equality

It′s a sound, a willingness to love the rest
It′s a prize, carried in ones selflessness
It's a mindset of inclusion for all
You can′t lose if you're brave enough to heed the call
It′s a right, human right
Right not fight
