Tax Free Songtext

Tax Free Songtext

I′ll be fine don't you worry about me
I just bought some wine and cigarettes
I ain′t worked a day in weeks
I got nothing to hide from the IRS
So I wake up on the floor
I can't take New York anymore
There's nothing for me here and I don′t even care
I got a tax free future down in Delaware
It′s as good a place as any to live like a bum
They got one arm bandits in the Cumberland farms
I'm gonna give up love and give up art
I put a white trash picket fence around my heart
So I start it all again
It costs too much in the state I′m in
I don't shave my scruff or wash my greasy hair
These luxuries will be tax free
Down in Delaware
Now if I win that lottery in the first state
I′m gonna buy me a steak dinner and a half-baked plan
If I return to SoHo with cash to burn
I'm gonna open up a gallery
With no velvet ropes and no wannabes
I′ll be fine don't you worry about me
I just bought some more wine and more cigarettes
I ain't written a thing in weeks
I′m a big joke to the New York press
So I wake up on the floor
I′m just an aging freelance whore
Don't wanna die here in this den of despair
There′s always death and taxes
No tax down in Delaware
