Haven Songtext
von Steve Abel

Haven Songtext

Never had his own granddaddy
All he had was a bush of flames
Never knew his father′s family
So he made up cinematic names
Cinematic names
In the fields cattle wandered
And breached the fences of a former age
He chased the beasts that would seize the youngling
And plucked bright wild flowers to adorn his face
To adorn his face
Yellow daffodil fell from his throat
And salty blood drenched his coat
For the whore of a wild boar had pierced him
To sever the vein of earthly hope
Earthly hope
Never as he lay to sod the soil
Did he marvel for any other
Than this sweet life lost

Beneath the grey-green forest
Where pole-broad cackle and dead trunks
Are the haven of bats and moths
Bats and moths
Yellow daffodil fell from his throat
And salty blood drenched his coat
For the whore of a wild boar had pierced him
To sever the vein of earthly hope
Earthly hope
The haven
Bats and moths
The haven
Cinematic names
This sweet life lost
The haven
Bats and moths
Earthly hope
Earthly hope
