I look through my notes
And I see the pain in those poems
And I flip through my journals
And I see the skulls of the catacombs

And I listen to those songs
I wrote when I was drunk and alone
I had no place to go
And I look through my notes
And I see the girl I once knew

There′s no light in the catacombs

Painted pictures on the wall
Reminds me of another fall
Burning ambers in the sky
Reminds me of another time

And I ask why the sun shines so bright
In the daytime, but disappears at night?
Am I scared of the morning light?
Do I wake up out of spite or temptation?
