But I heard from him last week.
He called me on the phone
On my birthday. For a while we talked
About how he had been,
About how I had been, about our past lives.
I should visit him next weekend. It's been far too long.

I don′t want us to be footnotes in each other's history books.
I don't want us to be parallel lines.
