In the nether reaches of a story yet to start
I′d come to steal some peaches from the orchards of your heart
I walked in woven whispers to avoid the sentry's glare
I saw you just grew citrus, somehow i didn′t care

The necromancer's fancy, too subtle to ignore
Chained to spells he can't see, too wise to be called poor
Now pheromones and fortunes for sale in simple stores
The streets alive with orphans, the walls adorned with whores

I thought you would hate me...

And though your mind′s unkind your soul is pure
And in that fading light I knew you′d lure me inside

Amidst shifting views of honour, blind devotions align
To some mantlepiece Madonna, and her child who walks on wine
A convoluted courtship between two twisting snakes
Justifies your bad trip, if the patient fails to wake

I thought you would paint me...


Now one last call to reason, and one lost lover blamed
In the hallways of your treason, enlightenment hangs framed
Now modern potions vanquish the skillful and the strange
And falsify the language from some forgotten age

I thought you could face me...

So track me down girl, I am hiding from the world
In the hands of a saviour, who asked me for a favour

Serenade your greed on the body of your need
As the tears keep on burning, trickle tide is turning
And the method drove me mad, all the simple jobs I had
