Hard Rain Songtext
von Simon Carter

Hard Rain Songtext

Hard rain, I′ve had my fill
I'm like wet concrete or dry eyes
I feel the weight of an exit clause
Wet blanket wheels turning me gone
A radio in my head
A test pattern drawn thick on my inside eyes
A glance over the edge of a high low rise
A head on a rent but still paying a monkey

When I have a dream on a day like this
I wish reality was oh so different

Oh mama, I got that feeling again
The hard rain beating on my brain
And all this background noise is no good
I′m bleeding sweat

In low orbit as the day begins
I might quicken the pace of doom
If I leave the light on in the kitchen
Some lady walking her wolf
Disturbing my peace with a tune
From the house that Jesus built
She looks like a carton of fitness milk
If you're going to hell at least do it in style

When I have a dream on a day like this
I wish reality was oh so different

Oh mama, I got that feeling again
The hard rain beating on my brain
And all this background noise is no good

I think I'm seeing crazy visions
As I lay in bed at night
I′m chasing my tail like every morning rising
I never knew hard rain could fall so much
Even when bright face flaunts her cheek
On the street corner just out of reach
Tantalisingly close to my fingertips
