I stood at the peak of hell

I shouted for joy

As I always have
But the rain did not fall


My joy just grew
As the thunder clapped
The lightning struck
Water raced down the valleys below
The energy died
The woman cried
The rain did not
Last night did

But the peak is found
On the highest hill
At first I wept for days
Then I cursed the rain
Then I hated the name
Of the one who brought me pain
For the first time I saw black
In the open around me
So often did I love the sun
But I wished to be one with the dark

As I descended off my place
I could see my shadow form
My dreams were quite a foe
As the rain did come
