Council Flat Songtext

I came back for Rosie
I know she′s sad but she's too proud to show me
I wouldn′t care if she didn't sigh so loudly
My eyes grew dim
From missing him
That consoles me
Still I wouldn't care if they wouldn′t row downstairs
Bellowing fires below me
But this is all they hear from me
I don′t know what the fight's about now
She shouts "Dennis!"
Luckily his voice doesn′t carry
And Dennis gets the girls, which would be nice
But not for she to whom he's married, no
And she shouts "Bring it on, wanker
Bring it on, wanker

Bring it on, wanker
Get the fuck out of my home!"
So Dennis leaves and I guess she is alone
I don′t know what the fight's about now
I wouldn′t care if they just keep it down downstairs
Bellowing fires below me
But I don't know them and they don't know that
I came back for Rosie
And although her face was sad
She′s too kind to show me
To tell you the truth I′m glad
Considering the day I had
My eyes grew dim
From missing him
That consoles me
And would hold me
