Get the Message Through Songtext
von Sandy Bailey

Get the Message Through Songtext

Just got home working the nine to five
Thirty-two years of answering phones
I microwave my dinner tonight
Sit in my chair and start to scroll
Maybe I can comment on your picture
I can′t believe how much your baby's grown
Maybe I can write you a letter
Or maybe it′s just been too long
These clothes that I wear
Don't fit like they used to
And even my hair
Has gone gray on the sides
I just sit and I stare
It's so easy to reach you
But this lonely heart of mine
Can′t seem to get the message through

The kids moved out, my boy is his father′s son
He can't forgive the things I′ve done
I was hard on him, it was tough lovin'
Had to teach him right from wrong
Maybe I can comment on his picture
I can′t believe how much my baby's grown
Maybe I can write him a letter
Or maybe it′s just been too long
These clothes that I wear
Don't fit like they used to
And even my hair
Has gone gray on the sides
I just sit and I stare
It's so easy to reach you
But this lonely heart of mine
Can′t seem to get the message through
