Break Out Songtext

Break Out Songtext
Imagine, for a moment, that something′s on your mind every second of every day. And then imagine that no matter how many times you think about it, that something never progresses. It's always the same thing, stuck in your head over and over on a constant loop. Never at rest, never resolving.
You put yourself out
You sell yourself, you try until it′s hurting your health
And they say "what's it about?"
Reply "a mix of emotions,
Metaphorical oceans"
And now they're starting to bail out
You say "it′s about performing"
And now it′s underperforming
You're feeling faked out
It′s time to break out
Your audience consists of people you already know
You're praying that′ll change as you rearrange the flow
Lyricism gets you far but the lyrics come so slow
And the masses pass the opportunity to watch the show
They say 'when the going gets tough, the tough gets going′
And that's true until the going getting tough is overflowing
They say 'throw it at the wall and see what sticks′
But your wall is fully covered, you can barely see the bricks
You′re not one to give up when you find yourself in a stick-up
A gun to your head, on your knees, saying please, in the breeze, diocese like a Bishop
The gun is metaphoric, rhetoric, like poetry; I've written many poems more than thee
But that′s not enough for people with a tendency to disagree
I wish I knew more about the human brain and how it works
I'm no philosopher but by the ignorance I′m urked
Surely it can't be hard to see that Sam Snook is no burk
I just sit and write my verses, rehearsing
And never knowing if it′s worth it
Maybe my music's a disgrace
I've got no-one to confirm it
So I will break out of this place
There′s nobody to observe it
No audience awaits
This artist would prefer it
If some people knew his face, oh oh
So that is it. It′s lonely. What's the point in having a treadmill of thoughts in your head all the time if there′s no runners to jump on and run with you? The truth is, after so much time failing to come up with good ideas, creating and deleting time and time again, never really sure if what I'm making is good enough, I′m going a bit insane. But that's what songwriting really is. And the worst part is there′s no-one here to witness it.
Never knowing if it's worth it
Maybe my music's a disgrace
I′ve got no-one to confirm it
So I will break out of this place
There′s nobody to observe it
No audience awaits
This artist would prefer it
If some people knew his face
Never knowing if it's worth it
I know my music′s a disgrace
I've got no-one to confirm it
So I will break out of this place
