Passion Train Songtext

Passion Train Songtext

You were four years married to a man who loved you still
Far from you his work took him away
I′ve been meditating with a guru on a hill
Running to or from myself I cannot say
Well I figured when I met you, you'd be dangerous to know
Eyes like yours could paralyze a nation
Still I took your hand, said I had no special place to go
When you asked me for a lift down to the station

Whistle blowing as we headed to a place
Where no one knows you by your face or by your name
Engine glowing, burning bright enough
To blind us to our loneliness and what you lose or gain
Riders without tickets on the passion train

We had no need for questions rolling through the empty night
For a while all our intentions were suspended
Till I whispered softly you could turn my darkness into light
And no sooner had I spoke the ride had ended

Whistle blowing, walking off a dirty platform
Back to streets we knew would never be the same
Nothing showing on the outside though well hidden is the fact
You′ve only got yourself to blame
Riders without tickets on the passion train

A friend of mine once said, "Got to move ahead
Pay no attention to the sound
Stuck inside my head, an engine burning red
And the echo of the pistons as they pound."

I hear you live alone, no lover keeps you long they say
The road you walk is void of intersection
I went back to my guru but I couldn't bear to stay
Not really wanting to be free of your reflection

Whistle blowing as we headed to a place
Where no one knows you by your face or by your name
Engine glowing, burning bright enough
To blind us to our loneliness and what you lose or gain
Riders without tickets on the passion train
