St Marks Hotel Songtext

14Th and 3rd street in St. Mark′s Hotel
New York is ringing in my head like a bell
And everywhere around me people living their lives
You're living yours too, I just try to survive
I walk through the backstreets where the dead scream and shout
I sit in these cafes ′til I get thrown out
And I can't help but fall in love with every waitress I see
That won't replace the feeling of when you once loved me

It′s cold now, but it just will not snow
There′s a frost on these old streets and the ones I don't know
The man on the 4th floor′s hat covers his face
And he must know that I miss you in this sad old place

I talk to these strangers who laugh through their tears
Their cold eyes look like they've been awake now for years
You got everything you wanted and I′ve nothing but time
New York always reminds me of when you were mine

It's cold now, but it just will not snow
There′s a frost on these old streets and the ones I don't know
The man on the 4th floor's hat covers his face
And he must know that I miss you in this sad old place

And he must know that I miss you in this sad old place
