Like the line of a gathering storm
Blown by an unsettling wind

On the edge of the sea
Growing weaker with every wave
Breaking down on me

God, how I want the wonder
I knew when I was younger

I thought that my heart was true
It had a hunger then
My faith had a farther view
But the years roll on by
And the doubts creep on in
Til I′m just the ghost of a boy
Out of touch with his own skin
Can you find me now
On the edge of the scene
Playing a minor role
In a movie about me

Now every cliche I've heard
Is a familiar sword
Stuck into my chest
