Before I Wake Songtext
von Roy Schneider
Before I Wake Songtext
"If I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul..."
That′s what I was taught to say, every night before
On my journey into the stars I would embark
In the evening – just before the world grew dark
Now that I'm not made to pray, I′ve found a little hymn of my own
And every night it's a little bit changed
For every new town that's my home
When on my journey into the stars I do embark
In the middle of the night – long after the world grows dark
When I lay me down to sleep for the last time, my friend
I pray this world a song to keep – if it can ever lend a hand
When on my journey into the stars I do embark
For the last time, just before the world grows
That′s what I was taught to say, every night before
On my journey into the stars I would embark
In the evening – just before the world grew dark
Now that I'm not made to pray, I′ve found a little hymn of my own
And every night it's a little bit changed
For every new town that's my home
In the middle of the night – long after the world grows dark
When I lay me down to sleep for the last time, my friend
I pray this world a song to keep – if it can ever lend a hand
When on my journey into the stars I do embark
For the last time, just before the world grows
