Oceans of the Heart Songtext
von Richard Clapton

Oceans of the Heart Songtext

All my life I've been told
The streets of Heaven are paved with gold
Open your eye and you will see
The sunlight catch the angel's wings
Throw your arms up to the sun
And start heading North up Highway 1
This whole damn city is getting tough
And I guess I'm just not tough enough

Gonna drive all night
Past the madhouse lights at Big River
Through the veil of tears
There's a whole new world you will see
Leave the hurt behind
'Cause those city lights cannot harm you
Make a brand new start
There's a lucky star
Over those oceans of the heart

Mama mama, can you see
This highway winds through fields of dreams
Over the hill and far away
Move on below it gets too late
We can make a trade on a pick-up truck
Head up north and try our luck
I'm not saying we should give up
But there's nothing left down here for us

Gonna drive all night
Past the madhouse lights at Big River
Through the veil of tears
There's a whole new world you will see
Leave the hurt behind
'Cause those city lights cannot harm you
Make a brand new start
There's a lucky star
Over those oceans of the heart
