von Redemption Draweth Nigh

What transpired in the night?
How long would I have to hide?
Perplexed in vexing obscurity
Unclear, it happened suddenly
Down it shown
The spotlight′s glow
Quiet I stare into the crowd

"Start the show," they cry
A fire raised in their eyes
Danced in the dark of the event
Afraid but I don't show it
The mob is set loose to feed
The hunger bleeds
From their teeth
Feral dogs roam the street
Parades and applause
All hope is lost
Now I know
Even though
Silent the crowd stares back at me

And so I run onto the front lines
Unhidden from the wings
Powerful at center stage
What will the future bring?
