You seal, the door, behind
Scrape off, your shoes, and crawl
Shutoff the roars, the pubs outside
Mother spins one way, the yarn unraveling
You shut away the living room, the walls deafening

And even with darkness, even with sleep
Even in dreams, the doors of death
Sing a siren′s song

Silence crumbles away
And all that reigns supreme
The noise, the sound, it never fails to breathe


Like Adam and Eve, you never asked
To be granted this vain task
Of wading through a forlorn world
But here I am, I'm the noise

You glue together eggshells
Try to shelter and help them
Then when they break again
Your eyes turn red
Next you′ll find a broken bough
You'll try to climb and rest on top
Then you'll crash and break your neck
You′ll feign surprise and act betrayed

And even with laughter, even with food
Even with water, the love onto you
Such an unsightly beast
