Pure Blue Songtext

Pure Blue Songtext

I′d get up every morning
And I'd press my back to the door
Analyzing the pencil marks
In hopes I′d grown a little more

Isn't time meant to fly?
It crawled so slowly for me
I became so immune
To the hopefully soons
That the future was a fantasy

You'd gather dandelion clocks
And we would hang a wish on every single seed
We′d watch ′em fluttering
And chase the wind
Wishing life would just begin

Now that we've grown older
And know a little better
I still can′t say
If it's worth the wait
Now and again
I′ll open my window like a letter
I look back through
And I still see you
Pure blue

We would catch fireflies
And keep them in a leftover jar
Walk around and pretend we'd found
The pieces of a shooting star

There′s no mirror in the sky
So I just fumble along
Maybe this is a dream
And I'll wake up relieved
In the safety of my mother's arms

We′d tumble down
And we would scrape our knees
Pick at the scabs ′til they began to bleed
I thought that maybe I could shed my skin
Slip away and start again

Now that we've grown older
And know a little better
I still can′t say
If it's worth the wait
Now and again
I′ll open my window like a letter
I look back through
And I still see you
Pure blue

I haven't done all I could
But I′ve seen many colors
I never thought I would
(Wouldn't it be nice?)
Oh, but wouldn't it be nice
If we knew
We could step into any river twice?

Lost all my wishes somewhere in the breeze
Oh Lord, I wish they would return to me
I can′t imagine that they′ve gotten far
But I wonder where they are

Now that we've grown older
And know a little better
I still can′t say
If it's worth the wait

Now and again
(Now when I open)
I′ll open my window like a letter
I look back through
(I look back through)
And I still see you
