I′m not a poet - I just hear a million phrases in my head
I spin around while people lie so peacefully in their beds

Then in the candlelight I play the piano and I hear my name
I'm coming home - It′s something like a wonder that I can't explain

You were never there while I was writing
Will you protect the spirit in the end?

It all felt so right ′till I had to battle pain
Still I need it - Sounds and verses that won't fade away

I could never sacrifice my tears to win a senseless fight
I wouldn′t know of beauty if I hadn't ever dared to cry


I slip into my shadow to become someone who writes a song
I′ve got no science so I need the heart to be myself and strong
