I am 85 years old today and have been here during three wars, 1812
1848, And 1860. I am the mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother
Of 103 children. When just past 18 years old, I was the mother
Of two children. I carried them with me to the field after
Milking and getting breakfast, tied them in a fence corner, and Cut 12 shocks of corn per day. I have cut woods, split rails
Handled the reap hook and cradled in harvest time, sowed, pulled
Broke, hackled, and swindled flax, spun it, and woven it into
Cloth. I have sheared sheep and made the wool into blankets
Linsey, and jeans. I have done all kinds of work and feel none the

Worse for it. At the age of 19, I joined the old Old Bergrun
Baptist Church under the ministry of Reverend Thomas Boone. I′m now
A member of Mount Sterling Baptist Church. This is my last birthday
