Rain Songtext

Rain Songtext

Far across the world a moth is flapping its wings
In a ditch somewhere a kid is growing

Rain along the roof, it′s sunny somewhere else
Up in Clintonville it starts snowing
Rain in the gutter and a toy boat capsizes
As a sailboat capsizes in the ocean

Things are silent sitting in the basement here
We're spinning too fast to feel the motion
Squash a bee, it stings you and your finger swells
From the cemetery you hear wedding bells
Couples making love as a mother tells
Her son about the stork and his daddy pops the cork
Off a bottle of champagne

It′s raining
It's raining
It's raining
It′s raining

Cars are driving, some are parked and some are crashed
They don′t look like much up in an airplane
Delphiniums are drowning on the porch at home
They're packaged in a basket with cellophane
Rain in the gutter and a toy boat capsizes
As a sailboat capsizes in the ocean

Things are silent sitting in the basement here
We′re spinning too fast to feel the motion

A tidal wave in Asia kills a million fish
Everybody has to die but you still wish
What on earth is happening in the playground
Where some kid thinks he's found a hole in the ground
That reaches to Japan

It′s raining
It's raining
It′s raining
It's raining
It's raining
