Flowers Songtext
von Philippa Kinsky

Flowers Songtext

I′ve been digging a hole to plant a seed
Sat down and waited all day to see
If it'd started growing
But it was a disappointment

And when a small green leaf appeared
I wanted to help, so I pulled and cheered
And that would be the end of it
Of my little flower field

But I have learned to wait it out

Nothing′s surer than the morning sun
Feels so good to know the time has come
The ice has melted and the flowers have grown
Thought it'd never happen

Look, I'm thriving on the other side now
Thought it′d never happen

I′ve been digging a hole to plant a seed
Sat down and waited all day to see
If it'd started growing
By now I should know it
And when a small green leaf appeared
I wanted to help, so I pulled and cheered
And that would be the end of it
Of my little flower field

But I have learned to wait it out

Heres to hoping for a joyful end
A spray of flowers decorates my hands
Proudly smiling, I am at your doorstep
I knew some day it′d happen

See I'm here now and I′m not afraid
I knew some day it'd happen
