Give It a Try Songtext
von Petula Clark

I will never be the one you seem to see in me
I try, Lord knows I try but I don′t make it
Now baby, can't you see
I can only be me
And everything I am I′m offering you
So throw away your fantasies and face reality
Like I do

Try to see the side of me that's loving you, baby
Try to see the side that you don't know
I could show you things you never imagined you ever would see
Why don′t you give it a try?

I am not a fool
I′ve been around, I know the rules
So I smile, through it all I smile
And try to take it
Now baby, you need me
But you just got to see
Affection is a dream that rarely comes true
And if you want to touch the skies
You'll have to compromise
Like I do

Try to see the side of me that′s loving you, baby
Try to see the side that you don't know
I could show you things you never imagined you ever would see
Why don′t you give it a try?

Try to see the side of me that's loving you, baby
Try to see the side that you don′t know
I could show you things you never imagined you ever would see
Why don't you give it a try?

Try to see the side of me that's loving you
So...
