A cold wind blew from the southland
As Weathertop came in sight
The sky was lit up with lightning
And thunder rolled through the night
Our hearts just wouldn′t stop thumping
And our knees just wouldn't stay still
My head was hot with the pain I′d got
And I've never felt that ill

By the time that we reached the action
The noise had all died down
All we found was the charred burnt ground
And not a soul left around
A sign scratched into the rockface
Was all that we could see
We decided to sleep at that witch's keep
And there was no place left for me

My fear kept pulling me backwards
And Hal kept saying beware
A black form rose in the distance
And none of us seemed to care
Our swords grew hot in their scabbards
For the battle sure to come
Our horses all fled in terror

And my sweat rolled onto the leather
Which creaked in time to the chase
A soft tune hummed in the hoofbeats
As they churned the earth from the track
